Tomáš Tóth Appointed New Director General of the Railway Administration

The Railway Administration (Správa železnic) will have a new Director General from 1 February. The position will be assumed by Tomáš Tóth. His appointment was unanimously approved by the Board of Directors at its first meeting in its newly restructured composition, chaired by the new Chairman, Martin Kolovratník.

Tomáš Tóth was born in Pardubice in 1981 and holds a degree in Management, Marketing and Logistics from the University of Pardubice. He held various management positions within the Czech Railways Group. Between 2018 and 2025, he served as Chief Executive Officer, and from 2020 to 2025 also as Chairman of the Board of Directors of ČD Cargo, the largest rail freight operator in the Czech Republic.

At its meeting yesterday, the Government of the Czech Republic adopted a resolution that changed the composition of the Board of Directors of the Railway Administration (Správa železnic). Martin Kolovratník was appointed Chairman of the Board, while Ladislav Němec and Martin Červíček remain members. They have now been joined by Tomáš Tyll. The Government will decide on the appointment of the remaining board members at one of its upcoming meetings.
