The Czech railway industry was showcased at one of the world’s leading trade fairs for transport technology. The joint presentation provided international partners with an overview of Czech expertise and capabilities, supported the development of international contacts and created opportunities for further business cooperation.
The international transport technology trade fair InnoTrans 2026 took place at Messe Berlin from 22 to 25 September 2026. According to the organiser’s preliminary final figures, the event attracted approximately 175,000 trade visitors from more than 120 countries. A total of 3,190 exhibitors from 59 countries presented their products and services across all 42 exhibition halls, covering a gross exhibition area of 200,000 m². The organiser also recorded 180 world premieres.
The joint presentation of the Czech railway industry was an integral part of the trade fair and was organised by the VRT CZ and PROFIŽEL projects. Together, they represented a portfolio of 27 Czech companies on the international stage, showcasing their expertise, products and solutions for railway infrastructure, technology and modern transport. The aim of the joint presentation was to raise awareness of the capabilities of Czech companies, increase their visibility in international markets and create opportunities for establishing new business contacts.
The Czech Railway Industry Has Much to Offer
The Czech Republic has a long-standing tradition in rail transport. Czech companies are involved in the development, design, manufacture, construction and modernisation of railway infrastructure both at home and abroad. Their expertise spans a wide range of sectors, from track systems and civil engineering to signalling technologies, digitalisation and telematics, as well as component manufacturing, engineering solutions, maintenance and specialised services.
This breadth of expertise was one of the key themes of the joint presentation at InnoTrans 2026. It enabled international partners to gain a broader understanding of Czech suppliers and showcased the Czech railway industry as an integrated sector capable of providing specialist knowledge, manufacturing capacity and solutions for complex railway projects.
“Czech companies have many years of experience, strong technical expertise and the ability to deliver solutions across a wide range of railway industry sectors. Our aim is to showcase these capabilities to international partners, encourage cooperation and create opportunities for Czech companies to expand their presence in international markets,” says Renata Suchánková, Executive Director of the VRT CZ and PROFIŽEL projects.
Official Opening of the Czech Exhibition with Distinguished Guests
A major highlight of the Czech railway industry’s presentation was the official opening of the Czech exhibition, which took place at InnoTrans in Berlin on 22 September 2026 at 13:30.
The ceremony was attended by prominent representatives of the Czech transport and industrial sectors, including Martin Kolovratník, Chairman of the Administrative Board of Správa železnic; Vazil Hudák, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of České dráhy; Jan Sechter, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade; and dozens of representatives from Czech railway industry companies.
The opening ceremony highlighted the importance of presenting the Czech railway industry internationally and provided an opportunity for representatives of institutions, industry experts and Czech companies operating in the railway sector to meet and exchange ideas.
The joint exhibition presented Czech companies in the context of their expertise and potential for cooperation. Particular emphasis was placed on connecting individual companies and showcasing the Czech industry as a partner capable of contributing to complex railway projects.
InnoTrans as a Platform for New Business Opportunities
InnoTrans is one of the major international gatherings for professionals in rail transport and transport technology. In addition to showcasing new products and technological innovations, it provides opportunities for face-to-face meetings, the exchange of experience and the development of relationships between manufacturers, suppliers, transport operators, infrastructure managers and other industry stakeholders.
For Czech companies, participation offers an opportunity to present their experience and manufacturing capabilities in an international setting and explore potential involvement in future projects. Personal meetings also help companies better understand the needs of international partners and identify areas in which Czech businesses can offer their products and services.
The VRT CZ and PROFIŽEL projects intend to build on these opportunities beyond the trade fair itself. Key priorities for their ongoing work include developing the contacts established, encouraging communication between companies and identifying concrete opportunities for cooperation.
Czech Railway Industry Magazine Showcases Czech Companies to an International Audience
The presentation also included the publication of the Czech Railway Industry Magazine, produced to coincide with InnoTrans 2026. The magazine features a selection of Czech companies and their solutions across the railway supply chain.
It highlights the expertise of Czech companies in infrastructure, signalling systems, digitalisation, telematics, engineering and manufacturing, components and specialised services. Its aim is to help international partners navigate the range of solutions available on the Czech market and encourage further communication with potential business partners.
The magazine is also part of a long-term effort to present the Czech railway industry in a unified and accessible way. The joint presentation showcases not only individual companies, but also the breadth of their expertise and the opportunities for collaboration between them.
VRT CZ and PROFIŽEL: Supporting Czech Companies and Developing Cooperation
The VRT CZ project has a long-standing focus on supporting the involvement of Czech companies in the preparation and future construction of high-speed rail lines in the Czech Republic. It seeks to ensure that Czech businesses have opportunities to demonstrate their experience, manufacturing capacity and specialist knowledge and to participate in planned railway projects.
PROFIŽEL brings together companies from across the railway industry, promotes cooperation and provides a platform for sharing experience, showcasing expertise and developing business relationships.
The shared goal of both projects is to strengthen the position of the Czech railway industry, enhance its competitiveness and create the conditions for broader participation by Czech companies in domestic and international projects.
Participation in InnoTrans 2026 continued this long-term effort. The presentation of 27 Czech companies, the official opening of the Czech exhibition and the publication of the Czech Railway Industry Magazine were all key elements of the joint international presentation of the Czech railway industry.
